ARTIST: Kim Remus

SONG: "Restless in the USA"

GENRE: Country/Country General

RW's Opinion(s):

This girl has really got it. I listened to this song 4 times. I just couldn't find anything wrong or anything that needed improvement. So far, this will be the most difficult review for me to make. All I can say is, Canada has produced yet another Country Star.

VOCALS:

Kim's vocals are amazing. Her abilities mimick the likes of Wynonna, Danni Liegh, and Terri Clark. But Kim deffinately has her own style. The background vocals are awesome.

MUSIC:

To be honest, the music is just as good as Kim's vocals. I like the lead guitar work. The Bass Guitar is right there. And so is the rest of the band.

PRODUCTION TIPS:

I wouldn't change a thing.

OVERALL RATING:

    + 1/2 -out of- 5
{4 + 1/2}

Kim Remus – “Restless In The USA”
Song: Restless In The USA
Genre: Country -> Country General

Must be the mp3, but the beginning has a bit of a tinny echo to it, which continues throughout the song. But, I will ignore that… might just be a flaw in the mp3, for all I know.

I like the opening of the guitar and the vocalist immediately kicking ass. And that she does. Powerful voice, accompanied by very appealing music. Now this is a Country song, short to the point but straight up. It’s only 3:20 minutes long, but full of energy presented by the vocalist.

It seems that I am reviewing Country Female Artists out of Canada quite a bit. Yeah – Shania Twain comes from there. I thought, Jennifer Marino sounded a bit more like Shania. Kim has her own style and voice. That’s very evident.

As far as the track is concerned for a country song, I think it’s average. But, it has the voice with energy that brings it to life! Great voice, very bouncy and toe tapping song (nice little country swing dance, too) and overall a pretty good production. Except, of course, what I hit on in the very beginning. Could just be the program used to put this one into mp3 format.

I know that this is a somewhat generic review, but that means I do not have anything to complain about. The technical aspect from a production point of view, aside from the strange noise within the mp3, is nothing short of fantastic. Kim’s voice is nothing short of stunning. So, there you have it. Another country music star in the making! That I am sure of!

Nice job and nice to hear more talent in the country music genre! All the best from me! Loved the song!

Mike

Opry North Review
"This young woman delivers a powerpacked performance (think Amanada Marshall) that promises of better things to come! Surprisingly mature vocals for such a young and fresh looking beauty. This cd is an excellent example of Canadian talent that I would like to see succeed to the world stage where she should be"........ ...

German Review - Kim Remus
Shes a perfect mix of Jo Dee Messina, Trisha Yearwood, and the power of Alannah Myles. One of the best country rockers I have heard in the last year. She brings a fresh sound into the good old country scene. Its the best sound your loudspeakers can get.

Kim Remus

(eSoundz Reporter....01/28/2002) [Country] Kim Remus is destined to be one of Canada's top country artists. Her sound commands the attention of her audience and the rich sultry textures of her vocals earn it.

We commend her on such songs as "Restless In The USA". "Careful What You Wish For", and "General Store".
eSoundz rates this one "Signing material".
