All the Times (...I never wrote you a love song)
A modern reflection on Away in a Manger.
Written During Eastern North America Blackout August 14, 2003
For Grandad, Marty and Peter
I wrote this in memory of my Uncle Jimmy, recorded it with the assistance of my friend Don Bray and emailed the recording to my aunt in Alberta in time for the funeral.
My grandfather could fix anything with baling twine.
My father could work miracles with silicone sealant.
But any modern man knows that all you need in your tool kit is a hammer, a pair of vice-grips and a roll of duct-tape.
