A clip showcasing a clean patch i made with the Axefx II with the 2.0c update. The main riff is actually from the "Just Because" video i uploaded to the Periphery Youtube page.
A clip showcasing a distorted amp patch i made on the Axefx II with the 2.0c update! Used my EBMM JP7 with the original Dimarzios for this clip and the Das Metall amp model through the German cab and 57 mic with a T808 OD Drive block.
Testing a clean patch i made with the Axefx II. Used my Decibel Javelin 7 string for this test which has a BKP Aftermath set in it.
A quick clip i whipped up to test the Axefx II in a recording. God this thing sounds incredible, i seriously spent about 10 minutes on this patch, and it sits PERFECTLY in my preexisting mix. Cant wait to actually spend time with the unit!
Just a really quick clip i did to showcase Jan's Mayones Regius 8 String!! Incredible guitar!
I covered Nyan Cat because i had to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH2-TGUlwu4
This is the Kalm Theme from Final Fantasy 7. Mark Holcomb and I were in the mood to cover a song and this is the one we chose to do! Hope you enjoy!
Just a tiny little teaser of things to come for Periphery's second album, we wont be giving too much away this time around, so this is just a taste hehe.
This is the other song idea i worked on in Mauritius. Once again mix sucks because of the barebones setup, but i will probably work off of this arrangement to flesh this one out a bit!
One of two clips/song ideas i wrote whilst in Mauritius, the arrangement will probably change as will some of the riffs as i flesh it out. The mix was done on a super barebones setup so thats why it kinda sucks haha!
Ok so i finally caved and after a year of you guys asking, here it is: New Groove! This also serves as an official test clip of the brand new Bareknuckle Aftermath 7 string Bridge pickup, and it is amazing! Im going to get one for myself now!
Updated the BFR clip! Maybe those riffs werent throwaway after all, its amazing what some layers can do to fix a song haha! Anyways worked on it a bit more. Still a work in progress though.
A few riffs i have been sitting on for a while. I definitely plan on expanding on these ideas and making a full song out of this one. Also using this as a test clip for a mix with minimal processing.
Wrote this at a very late hour, it has a really chill vibe to it, i want to expand on this for sure! Also did this on my new recording pc, and i havent installed all my plugins yet, so this has really sh** ty compression on it and is probably clippin
Just messing with a kinda unusual trance progression Oh and i did this on my new recording pc, and i havent installed all my plugins yet, so this has really sh** ty compression on it and is probably clipping too haha.
Updated this song 9/15/2010, still a work in progress, but on its way! Definitely would love to see this song on Periphery's second album!
Brand new completely not fleshed out in any way idea, but something Jake and I have been working on! Will update when we have something substantial!
A song idea for a live intro to "warm up" the crowd with. Potentially could grow into a full song down the road...maybe...
Some new groovy riffs im working with as well as an excuse to test out a new mix! Not quite sure what this will go to, if it does end up with Periphery i may flesh it out a bit more...
Seeing as how Nobuo Uematsu is one of our all time favorite composers, Mark Holcomb and I decided to do a medley of sorts for the Haunted Shores EP im producing and cowriting for. Someone make sure Nobuo hears this hehe!
Just got Toontrack's Metal Foundry expansion, and made a little test clip. A total work in progress mixwise, but i think the sounds are very workable and sound really awesome, some good old fashioned tweaking should yield some good results i think!
Just got a Vigier Excalibur and my god its amazing. Decided to make a short clip with it. In hindsight perhaps not the most relevant clip since the guitar is tuned to Drone G haha, but the bright character of the guitar is still there!
Been listening to a lot of Telefon and Jaga Jazzist lately, and those definitely influenced the way this song came out in some ways. Other than that its just kinda chill and groovy!
Been jamming on these riffs for a minute and figured i would record it. Basically just an attempt at an alt rock song, just keepin it simple and catchy and messing with a new mix. Apologies for the lame sounding fake bass but mines not here...
Just a new very rough unmixed idea im working on. Im not totally sold on the arrangement as is, but then again its too short anyways so we will see what happens! Maybe it will be a Periphery song someday!
