Interview
“Je Je makes beats!?” might be the latest buzz right now... However, when it comes to understanding the inner workings of a musical score, Je Je is far from a newbie. Je Je Benji has been in love with music for over twenty years. This love affair began at the age of five when she first began taking piano lessons. Throughout her career, Je Je has been proudly branded as a “vocalist” and “songwriter” for many upcoming artists and producers in the Charlotte, NC and NYC area. As a classically trained Soprano, she utilizes her vocal abilities in various genres of music. Her eclectic combination of resources include playing the violin, viola and cello for over fifteen years in addition to singing R&B, Gospel, and Jazz. After years of singing, Je Je has surprisingly found herself perched quite comfortably on the other side of the mixing board. She is expanding her many talents as she swiftly takes on the production scene. Je Je fuses a deliciously rich mixture of sounds when designing her music. Producing tracks that skillfully merge her classical background with urban spice Je Je Benji is creating a musical expression that is second to none.
