Hi from a fellow Missourian!
Your lyrics are so entertaining! I laughed at the chainsaw artist thinking he was Michaelangelo. Where the heck is Johnson Hollow? If you get a chance, drop by my place and listen to "Down into the River", several Missouri songs mentioned there! Enjoyed my visit!
Edward,

I actually found your link on a message you posted on the Taxi.com forums.. I've been reading around at the 'rejected stories' (versus "success") - I listened to your Taxi rejects song. I find your song entertaining in that funny, but true sense.. We all work so hard to try and make a spot at the table to sit in, but unless you are a criminal, or have some serious issues - they don't want you.

Who wants to hear about a successful, prosperous and generous muscician? I certainly would, the public however thinks otherwise. They'd rather see thier hero's get hit with drunk driving charges, and possession, weapons charges - etc. I guess the public likes that in a sense because in a sense they just want thier hero's to look like they are on the same page as them I suppose... Doesn't make sense to me at all.

Anyways, onto your music - which is why I'm here anyways! Your musicianship is awesome - your production is good as well. I can't really comment on a single song in particular, because all the songs I listened to were well thought, and laid out, and it comes through clean!

Honestly, to relate to the issue of 'success' in music - I see alot of current artists (Top 40's ESPECIALLY) - lacking alot of talent. They don't compose the music behind thier lyrics - which is understandable I suppose, but they don't even write thier lyrics 90% of the time as well.

I just signed up to Taxi myself, hoping that my music will be heard by the right people.. I'm not expecting record deals, I don't want a record deal actually.. I'm more interested in opinion, and room to improve. I also was looking for a professional opinion that will be coming from someone I don't know.. Sure your family and friends will tell you that your music is GREAT! or AMAZING!, even buy your cd.. There's no issue there, but sometimes it feels like you're just getting what you want to hear from your friends - don't you get that too?

Anyways, the long and short of it is - music should be about; what you get out of it. If you enjoy listening to it, that's really all that matters, at least I found that. When you get a following of people who like your music, that's just cream on the cake. My time was well spent here, I think your material is worth the time spent listening to it - this ridiculously long post is a testament to that! Anyways, I guess I'm happy to see another soundclick artist on taxi, that was a relief too! Best of luck, feel free to come by and drop a message!

Take care,

Matt.
This is some great stuff. You are a storyteller who seems to share with me some thoughts about our world. It was a short visit today, but I plan to return to listen more. I really enjoyed your songs...truly written from the heart
Just thought I'd say that I like the music. It brings a smile to my face.
Pretty.

Wow Taxi Rejects! Each one of them is lunch money for the Taxi staff. I once sent them my best song, Miss Liberty, which was #1 in Country here on SoundClick and Taxi tore it apart. It made me sad so I asked for and got a refund. Sent the refund money to a church charity to help people in crisis. So you see that in spite of Taxi, there is love in this world!
