Thanks, Edwin Davis.
I just use the standard V7-S1-V8 pickups on my Ibanez guitar.
I haven't experimented with the tubes in my G9.2tt. I normally play through my Marshall 6101 and use a microphone to record. I don't use the G9.2tt's tubes then, the Marshall has plenty of tube tone by itself.
The tubes are indeed Chinese, I recognize the double round plate at the top. Funny thing is that I actually use those in my Marshalls aswell, because they give the best hi-gain sound of the preamp tubes I've tried.
The ones in my Marshall sound very similar to Electro Harmonix. So if you'd change the tubes in the Zoom for EHX, I don't think you'll notice much of a difference.
Other brands may make a difference, depends on how much tube you dial in. I don't think it will make too much of a difference though, most of the sound still comes from the digital modeling, the tubes are just some icing on the cake. And I actually like the Chinese tubes, so I don't think they're bad

Hey Dude! I head of a guy at Harmony Central that changing the tubes of G9 will drastically improve the sound quality! He said the factory tubes on the G9 are cheap chinesse tubes & replacing the tubes with some high quality tubes like Groove Tubes or telefunken will improve the sound of ampsim by 100%... whats your opinion?
