Semi-finals Emergenza Festival

The Knitting Factory
74 Leonard Street, NY, New York City NY United States

DEskriptION
Semi-final Round of the Emergenza Festival. Tickets $12...contact the band for more info. The day of the show at the door $18. With your support, the band can win a trip to play at a huge outdoor concert in Germany. WNBC TELEVISION JOINS EMERGENZA FOR A ROCK N ROLL TOUR DE FORCE 'SPECIAL' IN NEW YORK Matthew H Evans reporting from New York After several weeks of media coverage from various Brooklyn and Manhattan magazines, WNBC television has jumped on the rock N roll band-wagon and got into the action by covering the Emergenza Festival. The network has written a piece on the New York phase of the Emergenza Festival, which is published on their web site on the entertainment section (read it here) where millions of readers around the world log in every day for news. The television crew, have also been around to our Manhattan venue to shoot footage and interviews for an up-coming "special" to be aired nationally on the morning show Monday March 27. The footage, which is also available online, is part of the increasing media exposure bands are getting through the festival. WNBC has taken interest in the festival when they approached the team and said that "what is happening here is great for original music". "Unsigned bands are truly climbing the media coverage ladder thanks to Emergenza" was the comment of Jeff Goldin, co-owner of The Hook, one of the many venues where Emergenza is taking place in the New York area. "WNBC is getting into the rock and roll arena and basically showing what real talent Emergenza has found in New York," added Goldin. After Italian, Canadian, German and Spanish televisions have run pieces on the Emergenza Festival and its efficient way of pushing unsigned original bands now it's the turn of the United States. After only a few months running in some of the 42 cities in North America, The Emergenza company has already being contacted by major international media "players" including Telemundo and MTV. As well as WNBC Television, NY's biggest rock station (Q104.3) has played on the air bands that took part in the competition on the Sunday night program called "out of the box", hosted by DJ extraordinaire (and unsigned band champion), Jonathan Clarke. So, great news for all bands that take part in the competition and others that are considering doing so in the future. With all of this attention, the focus for Emergenza still remains being independent from corporations and showcasing the best bands. Having said that, it proves that Emergenza is still keeping an indie soul in a world of corporate music. M. H. Evans
The first Emergenza show in New York city went off with a huge bang. The
crowd was amazing, the music was amazing, and Arleen's Grocery was the perfect
Spot for the festival. Suicidal Poets dicpline coordinated blend Talent's and
entertaining mucical work was in rare form. The 9 Band competition When down
to the wire. The Band POR QUE NO? Had a Huge following with that came a huge
amounut of votes and HELOISE AND THE SAVOIR had Rocked the house with thumpi
ng bass lines and hard beats Hard core metal Rock. When it was Time for the
Suicidal Poets We knew we had to rock as the closing act. The atmosphere was
right. the crowd were all having a great time and need it a stunner, they
delivered. By the end of the openning Song "Silver Horses" We knew we were on
hard footing. Michelle's edgy Jokes between songs and captivating vocals had won
the crowd by the time The second song "Lay in Grace" ended, Life is a
Mystery's Pop feel with The great Guitar arrangement Played By Steve And Joe's
Solo's on Guitar Ala Jimmy Hendrix Style and Michelle's sweet melodies had the crowd bopping and clapping along the pressence was strong as one of the
producers put it. and what was soposed to be the last song "I'm on the Run" turned out to be a stunner starting with Michelles Solo-Intro acapella set the crowd for an amazing Drum & Bass solo that put the icing on the cake, Alex Rojas drummer, played a trully Great Solo after setting up the pace he them follow with a solo where he left no drums untoched And Carmelo bassist was out for ventures as two of the producers were bass players, and as one of them put it the bass player is just bloody amazing. As it tourned out we wind up playing an
additional tune as the producers allowed us to keep the crowd going. So we closed with a cover Ala Suicidal "Gollow's Pole"

The verdict is out and we rocked our way on to the next round, were we will
compete with other winners!

Next stop is "The Bitter End"

Thanks for your support
