The German-American duo ORCHID LEAVES plays a mixture of different styles (rock, folk). It is the challenge and joy of the individual members to play for the open minded public. They play original songs with epic English lyrics for guitars and vocals in their very own and unique style...
Why this name?
The original singer Ina Friebe and myself (Hartmut Kreckel) composed a tune for two guitars titled "Mother Nature" and then we started to think about performing , recording and of course we needed a named for the duo. As that tune was like our musical source, I said something like "wild orchid", but disregarded it almost immediately and Ina said: "wait, wait a minute... what about orchid leaves". We knew that that was it...
Do you play live?
Yes quite a lot. Almost 50 gigs this year.
If you make it big..?
We´ll be ready for it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Not as much as people might expect!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It always depends... if there are ready to take a taste of orchid leaves...
