Hi.
I'm a guitarist living in Toronto, Canada. I released the CD called Joey Goldstein & Friends - A Strange Little Tune (JG-002) in 1993. The music is what I like to call "electric jazz" but most folks call it fusion. It is available for purchase from my web site at:

Have a look at my other Sounclick pages for some other things I've been involved with:

Why this name?
It chose me!
Do you play live?
I used to take a band out as a leader fairly regularly, but I'm sort of lazy that way now. I play jazz in clubs as a sideman every once and a while now, but mostly I teach, freelance, and do some shows (at the Shaw Festival) occasionally.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Time will tell.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Possibly.
Band History:
I also recorded an album called The Joey Goldstein Band - Time's Square - JG-01 in 1988 but it was only released on cassette. Four of the tunes from that album are actually included on the JG-002 CD release (A.S.L.T., Tilestones, July '83 and R.C.M.P.). I've recently posted the other tunes from the cassette (Time's Square, September '83 and Yo-Da-Lady) on this Soundclick page also. They're towards the bottom of the page.
The musicians on the 1993 session were:
Me: electric guitar, synth sequencing/programming, executive producer, mixing assistant.
Mike Farquharson: electric basses, producer, sound engineer.
Doug Riley: piano
Boko Suzuki: piano comping on Reptillicus
Rob Bonisolo: tenor saxophone
Vito Rezza: drums

Your influences?
I went to Berklee College Of Music in the early 1970's and was very fortunate to have been able to study with Pat Metheny, Gary Burton and Mick Goodrick all of whom remain, even today, as my main influences.
Favorite spot?
Wherever I happen to be.
