Eleven Days is a four piece Power Pop / Rock band from the Midwest. The band primarily plays their own material. In a market predominated by cover-bands, Eleven Days has built a large and loyal following (in a very short time) on the strength of their original music.
Why this name?
Bassist Tim McConnell, left for school in Arizona in 1998. After missing the band and the music for 11 days, he came back to Illinois.
Do you play live?
Eleven Days is presently doing 2 shows a week at the better clubs and festivals around the region. We love the live shows more than ever, but still can't get over people wanting our autographs everywhere we go. We have a big group of great fans who follow the band almost everywhere we go; you just can't say enough about loyalty.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
You still have to let folks know you exist and get them to listen. After that the internet can potentially expedite the dissemination of information & material.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Probably, if the deal is fair. The risk is about gone for the record company since we've already proven this music sells. Making good money without a "deal" has been exciting. If the industry "geniuses" had any idea what they've been missing they'd kick themselves. By the time they figure it out, we may not need them!
Band History:
One year of playing little clubs for nothing, or next to it; One year of playing bigger, better clubs & festivals, earning some recognition, and recording a second CD; The third year has been must like the second: Perfecting our sound and our live shows, writing and recording another CD and working up the venue ladder. Learning, growing, becoming stonger musicians and better PEOPLE!
Your influences?
Rock with melody and a catchy chorus that still has some "edge" to it.
