I brought Endeavour to life in 1995 when I recorded 9 of my compositions to DAT. I finally made a CD master in 2002 complete with liner notes and artwork. For various reasons, Endeavour was dormant until 2007. Then, took another relatively brief haitus until the summer of 2009. Since then, I've been doing some serious work on new songs. I hope to have 8-10 new songs ready for the public by the summer of 2010.
Why this name?
I chose Endeavour because I always strive to push the bounderies of the music I create.
Do you play live?
Not at this time.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet revolutionized the way musicians promote and distribute their music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No. Well, maybe with Discipline Global Mobile, but not just any record label. The bottom line is my music is my intellectual property. I own it and I want to keep it that way.
Band History:
To date, this band has had only one member . . . me. It is quite possible that I will collaborate with other musicians sometime down the road. I'm certainly open to that idea.
Your influences?
Genres that influence me: avant garde jazz, big band, prog rock, classical
Musicians that influence me include but are not limited to: Rick Wakeman, Keith Emerson, Tony Banks, Steve Hackett, Mussorgsky, Berlioz, Peter Hammill, Chris Squire, Geddy Lee, Ian Chrichton, David Brubeck, Count Basie, Allan Holdsworth, Terry Bozzio, Neil Peart, and many others.
Equipment used:
1995: Baldwin spinet upright piano and Ensoniq VFX
Current: Ensoniq VFX. Sonar 8 PE, a number of virtual instruments (VST plugins)
Future: Ensoniq VFX, Yamaha DX7II, Nord Lead 2x, Korg SP500, lots of virtual instruments
Anything else...?
Recently, I have started to play drums. Well, electronic drums. I currently own a Yamaha YDD-60 kit. I am also considering learning to play left handed guitar. However, I have recently become more interested in learning to play a Chapman Stick because I am fascinated that it is a string instrument that can be played much like a keyboard.
