Sketch Malkus is a solo project that features me on guitar, bass, drum loops, synthesizer and programming.
Why this name?
Sketch Malkus is a name I came up with years ago. Before I got heavily into music, I was and still am a cartoonist. But in the class I was in, there were four guys with the same name as me. So, I looked down at my Sketchbook and I dubbed myself with the name Sketch. Malkus is a deviation of my middle name.
Do you play live?
Not at the moment but I'm looking for members for a live band.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, it cuts out the middle man which is the label and let's artists have a free platform for there work.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No.
Your influences?
For the Project... Black Sabbath, NIN, Funkadelic, Frank Zappa, Timbaland, Lee Perry, Esham, Marilyn Manson, Nirvana, Suicidal Tendencies, Slayer, The Ramones, Bad Brains, MC5, The Stooges, Jermaine Dupri, Psychopathic Records (hey, say what you want, any act that still is around and kicking ass for all these years have my respect) Tech N9ne, MuthaWit, The Meters, Three Six Mafia, Dru Hill, Kid Rock, Muthawit ,Metallica, Early Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Bob Marley and the Wailers and Roni Size.
