We are DOCband. A 2 peice indie rock band located in a small, podunk town in Sonoma County, California. We don't play live. We don't care for most people. We like our music rockin', our beer cold and our homosexuals FLAMING.
Why this name?
DOC is an acronym for Declaration of Conformity, which is the name we started the band with. We figured DOCband has a nicer ring, anything with only 2 syllables does though, right? Anyway, I also think it's a little less pretentious, hopefully.
Do you play live?
Nah, we have yet to play live, we're still trying to figure out who we are and find our sound as well as build up some confidence. It'd also be a lot easier with a 3rd member I think.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well it f***s over the record stores witch is kind of a shame. Malls are finally f***ing useless with the extinction of record stores coming to be. But you gotta lose some to win some I suppose and the current ongoing boom of the underground indie music world starting to familiarize itself with more and more humans who grew up with mainstream music is just amazing. Many amazing hard working, struggling musicians are now finally becoming noticed thanks to the internet and it's indie friendly uses.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure, if it meant we could have creative control...so that's probably a no.
Band History:
My friend PJ and I started a band a few years ago called "Chrondukes For Hune". We released 4 free shitty albums and mailed them out to our very few but very loyal Myspace fans. It's mostly just a joke band but we have fun doing it and it gets a laugh so what's the harm in making it a hobby? Anyway, Chrondukes For Hune is basically just the two of us with a cheap tape recorder, a guitar, drum machine and the stupidest, grossest, most vulgar things we could come up with for song plots, I would usually sing and play the drum machine, Pj would play guitar. Many people would tell us they liked our music very much because it was so hooky and poppy and they'd like to hear what we'd come up with as a more structured, serious band that sings about more than just pussies and d**k and sex with dogs.
I decided I wanted to start kind of a "soft punk" band earlier this year (2008). I told Pj about the idea and by the end of the conversation, he was in. We started off as "Declaration of Conformity", a really cool, kind of "punk/hey f*** the man, man!" kind of name. We started just messing around with our Casio DG guitars (you know, Bret's black guitar from Flight of the Conchords he used on his "Boom" song) on the patio of my last apartment, giving passerbyers a little show. We were heckled no doubt but we did come up with some sweet riffs to use, by this time we were thinking of being strictly a DG and theremin band. Once we started jamming more and recording demos and trying more traditional rock instruments, we decided we'd expand. I am a man who admires diversity in his favorite bands after all. So that's kind of it really. Right now we're working on our album (at home and in studio) and releasing tracks and demos on Myspace, trying to develop some kind of fan base. If people eventually happen to like us enough to demand shows, we'll probably play shows...maybe.

Your influences?
A sh*** load has influenced us. It'd be impossible to compile a list. We have influences from The Beatles to Eminem to Beethoven.
Favorite spot?
As a band? I don't know.
Equipment used:
We gots lotsa stuff we're using on our current album in production. *looks around room*..Let's see. BOSS Dr. Rhythm drum machine, a pearl drum set, a cheap theremin, a Takamine nylon acoustic, an Ibeanez steel acoustic, jackson electric, an electric Pj painted sh*** all over, really cool DG-10 and DG-20 Casio digital guitars...I dunno lots of stuff. Don't really care much about brands anyway, whatever sounds decent enough to us.
Anything else...?
BIM BAM!
