Black_Hart! Readies Debut Album For Long Awaited Release!
Since a child growing up on the westside of Rochester New York, He knew he was destined to go far. Now 3 decades later Black_Hart! has manifested into a force yeilding knowledge and truth in a form unheard of in todays hip hop. With uncharted wisdom, and unmatched experience, Black_Hart! has literally "been around the block" a few times, as he enlisted in the United States Navy in order to positively fufill his dreams, refusing to see "common hustles" such as selling drugs as a vehicle. So IS HE A CONSCIOUS? Not in the traditional sense, Black_Hart's views of the world and humanity are genuine to his own personal experienses, he believes in the basics such as Striving for education, Family, and "Handling your business" ie paying bills etc. this "In the Mirror" take on life aids him in crafting a true tale of your common man, because as he would put it, Not everybody in the hood is a thug, and not every dopeman makes millions off his first drug deal.
Rent Money the album is a take on "the hood" through the eyes of your average resident trying to survive, a Musical "Good Times" if you will, where Black_Hart! takes a realist approach on topics that range from struggling to make ends meet (the song WNBA) to dispelling the "Player" Fasad (On the song Unicornz). Each of the 19 (three interludes) take on the same or similar topics you'd here on other rap classics, but through the eyes of one man as opposed to popular opinion. On the song Dopeboy Dreamz, Black_Hart delivers a shot of visine to the eye's of listeners by exposing the truth behind Drug Dealers and their effect on the community, and how Rappers make selling drugs seem far too appealing to impressionable youth with revealing lines like; They Listen To Your Songs Now They Want A Nice Whip/An Iced Out Grill And F___in A Fly B-----h/Real Thugs Dont See None Of That S--t/They Got A Stolen Check THey Just Wanna Cash It. One to emphasize that he's no preacher, nor condescending, Rent Money also has light moments in songs Jay's Timbs & Stacey's, and Spadez. On the former, Black_Hart! breaks out the old storybook, and tells an "everyday in the ghetto tale" metaphorically using Nike Jordans, Timberland boots, and Stacey Adams shoes, as tone setters to drive the points home. On the latter Young BH fan LIL Red Bull tags along as Black_Hart's "partner to deliver a lyrical wildfire comparable to a "spade team" with a "Boston Hand". While strictly intended to be a lyrical display, Black_Hart! tosses in doses of the real with jabs like; What The Bloodclot, N---a Just Stop/ Knowin Damn Well You Never Touched Glocks/Quit Singin Songs Bout Who You Shot/ WHEN WILL THE TUPAC MOCKERY STOP!, This new and innovative spin on the hood would not be complete without looking back on the place he called home, and BH does Rochester "double edged" Justice. The track "14619" gives the listeners a tour of the "Lilac" city, while at the same time delivering a boisterous display of lyircal talent and conceptual genuis, as Black_Hart dynamically interpolates the Constituion, the Star Spangled Banner, and Sailors Creed, interweaving them into an instant classic one would have to be listening carefully to catch. Later, he takes a nostalgic trip to the days when he originally approached the Mic on the song My Fair City, over a melody familiar to Rochesterians who tune in to WDKX at night, as he delivers his venomous flow over a soulful temptations sample, meshing like the Rochester night sky over the snow entrenched skyline. If you're from Rochester it would definately make you homesick.
All in all, Rent Money is an honest an heart felt opus, that will raise a lot eyebrows as to what its really like in New York's 3rd city, and perhaps set the gears in motion towards the entire state making a stance in the game.
Why this name?
We refuse to abide by industry standard thus we operate thoughout the game on our own rules that is why we are PIRATEZ.Once we sieze control of the game one market at a time we as artists will once again control the quality of music
Do you play live?
We sporadically appear all over the country, leaving the raw taste of the words DARK EMPIRE on the tongues of bystanders
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is paramount to our hip hop game domination, plus we can get those songs from back in the day we thought were once lost... chuuch.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Honestly we at a phase in our lives where we just want to be heard, and perhaps independently is the best route. We're not looking for a super huge campaign or a glamorous video or anything like that. We'd be satisfied with a CULT FOLLOWING.
Band History:
Each of us (Irie, Rayne, Black_Hart, Law, Sneek, and Nick Furee) have our own unique introduction to Hip Hop that we would like to reserve for Our individual releases, but we came together as a collective in 95 when Black_Hart! linked up with Nick Furee in Atlanta Ga. Black_Hart! would continue his quest to be an MC by way of the United States Navy, where he met the rest of the crew, whom served as well in Atsugi Japan. The Result 13 years of honing their craft and talent through LIFES trail and era, in hopes to bring to the world REALITY RAP!
