Why this name?
It is my name!
Do you play live?
I do sometimes play either alto or tenor saxophone live but not with my own bands. In these situations I am working as a side man in jazz big bands, wedding bands, reggae bands, etc..
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet opens up new avenues for music distribution and marketing, as well as an entirely new market for music of all kinds. It also affords the indie artist with a way to get their music heard and critiqued by their peers, potential fans and even music industry professionals. That said, I think the odds of really making a good living are still long and that only those with outstanding songs, a good work ethic and a strong desire have even a remote chance at success.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Band History:
Kurt Kreimier is an accomplished Composer, Producer and Musician. And although his true musical passions are composing and playing electronic wind instrument, his major musical development took place while playing jazz saxophone in and around Chicago. In addition to performing in the Jazz idiom, he has also been active performing in Classical, POP, Contemporary Christian, Latin, Blues, Rock and Reggae Groups. Kurt grew up in the Chicago Suburb of McHenry, Illinois. He has also lived near San Jose, California and he currently resides in Clermont, Florida, just west of Orlando.

As a performer Kurt has had the opportunity to play with Bill O’Connell, Art Porter, Frank Foster, Terry Connell, Don Scaletta, Jim Cooper, Corky Siegel, Nat Adderley, Bill Porter, Mike Mossman, Rod McGaha, Kenny Davis and Greg Rockingham, along with some of the best local musicians in the Chicago, San Jose and Orlando Areas. He has worked frequently as a freelance musician and has also led several of his own groups. For many years Kurt was also a featured performer and soloist with the Willow Creek Community Church Music Ministry, one of the largest and most respected church music ministries in the world.

Kurt received a BA Degree in Music with Honors from Northeastern Illinois University where he played in the Jazz Ensemble and one of two Jazz Combos at the school. During his years at Northeastern Illinois University they were regarded as one of the top collegiate big bands in the nation. They were awarded Outstanding Big Band Honors several years in a row at both the Elmhurst Collegiate Jazz Festival and the Prestigious Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival. He also played Flute in the Concert Band. His high school years found him playing alto and tenor sax in the McHenry High School Concert and Jazz Bands, as well as the contra bass and baritone bugles in two Chicago Area Drum & Bugle Corps, The McHenry Viscounts and The Des Plaines Vanguard.
