Behind The Name
"Fuego Calma" in spanish means a calm fire. The meaning behind it is that even a calm fire can errupt into a dangerous blaze at any moment. Fuego Calma is unsigned, and hungry and waiting for his moment to blaze .

Fuego Calma also known as Albert Polanco Born a Queens,NY native new yorican proudly brings his puerto rican style and culture into every song he does. Representing a movement by latinos everywhere in entertainment & business. Fuegos unique billingual flow and his passionate production of a reggaeton / hip hop mix is creating a buzz in the unsigned artist world. With over 1,000,000 plays on myspace alone Fuego Calma has been on Univisions Despierta San Diego , Opened for Twista and this june be apart of the Source Magazine Unsigned Hype Tour for MTV Tres and the Source Magazine. Fuego Calma takes the Reggaeton genre and makes it his own changing the typical rhythm heard in reggaeton everywhere called "dembow" and mixes it with a latin sounding flavor of hip hop . Slated to be featured on a number of mixtapes by Wu Latino and ALL Star Promotions as well as his own upcomming debut release "Damelo" Fuego Calma maybe a rookie to the industry but not a rookie to making music . Fuego Calma has been making music since the age of 14 and is just now at 21 years old getting recognition by A & R reps ,Promoters and Djs, all over the united states. Growing up on prodominatly Salsa ,and Merengue Fuego Calma loves his spansih roots ,his people and his music. Look out for Fuego Calma although his talent can only take him so far in an industry today so saturated with new talent ,Its his passionate go-getter,and unique approach never quit attitude will ensure that you will continue to hear more and more of Fuego Calma.
Why this name?
After giving it thought a long time I came up with fuego calma in english that means a calm fire. I chose it because Im calm on the outside but on the inside a fire burns for music for my goals. "Porque soy tranquillo pero hay un fuego en mi mente te doy el martillo"
Do you play live?
I recently opened for Twista in San Diego.Ive Performed at clubs and various events in an around San Diego but my biggest moment came when I was given the opportunity to perform on live TV for Univision San Diego for a show called Despierta San Diego , Also opening up for Twista was a big deal as well.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It creates opportunities for artist , and takes alot of power from major labels and gives it to the independent artist.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
maybe if the conditions were right . Independant is where the money is at!!

Your influences?
Growing up in a puerto rican home Salsa an Merengue were the main influence as far as music Hip Hop an R & B came into the picture later Reggaeton took the whole world by surprise an quickly became one of my favorite sytles of music. As far as producers an artist that influenced me , Luny Tunes, Eliel ,Nesty, Tainy, NORE, Pharell Just Blaze, Pitbull ,Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Tego Calderon , Zion y Lenoxx, Winsin an Yandel , this list could go on .
Favorite spot?
Houston Texas is my favorite city its home for me . Puerto Rico would be my favorite spot if I could get there more often.
