The Giants started as an instrumental jazz/funk fusion group playing an impressive set of intricate instrumentals, jazz standards (funked up of course), and current and classic hits arranged for the "Little Big Band" format.
After hooking up with Nationally acclaimed vocalist Anthony Campbell (winner of the NBC Today Show Superstar Talent contest) - the path was clear: it was our moral responsibility to bring da funk. Now, the Giants featuring Anthony Campbell play to music lovers everywhere and bring their unique brand of funk, jazz and pop to appease the funk gods.
Third Stream Giants uses a unique combination of jazz, funk, classical, pop, latin and other forms of music in creating their impressive blend. Utilizing the improvisational elements of jazz with the orchestration of classical, the grooves of funk and latin, and the palatability of pop to sculpt original compositions.
Complex time signatures, stark melodies and beautiful harmonies highlight the movements and the solid percussion and rhthym section frame the songs into an enjoyable and challenging experience.
Created, composed and arranged by Matt Montoro and produced by Third Stream Music.
Our current performance group includes: Matt Montoro: arrangments, guitar; Percy Burt: bass; Jason Collett: drums; Justin "Mister Duff" Duff: alto/tenor sax, arrangements; Lars Holmstrom: trumpet; Jeremy Wall: trombone; and featuring Anthony Campbell on vocals
