I have been doing music stuff for about six years now. I have been in various covers bands - 'Catch 22' being the best one. After this band split I started a band called glasshour, playing origional music written by me, the guitarist (Ross Huffen) and the bassist (Bead Dawson) I decided to go solo as well as be in a band, and so the Andy Whittle project is the result. I have recorded my first album, doing some in a studio and some at home, and am pleased with the result. The album is produced by Bead Dawson who plays and sings backing on it too. She has done a great job and I'm looking forward to the future.
We have started playing at Synergy Bar in Nottingham as part of a residency, its every friday night starting on 4th feb. I am involved with my freinds 'Mokey'(an up and coming acoustic band) in a company called brass button promotions, we are trying to expand the music scene to cater for soloists and acoustic type bands.
I'm into stuff like Dylan, Neil young, Richard Thompson, Simon and Garfunkel, Tom Mcrae, Jesse Malin, Rayn Adams and much more
Standard solid top acoustic guitar, 12 string acoustic guitar, hammond type organ, brush drums and acoustic bass, plus a danelectro distortion pedal and a few other chorus effects. I also have a nice electric piano which gets out sometimes.
