I am a guitarist/drummer/songwriter/singer/bassist/keyboardist based in Duxbury, MA.
Why this name?
It's my name.
Do you play live?
I love playing live. I co-host an open mic at Frankie D's in Kingston every Wednesday night, stop by and come jam with me!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I suppose it hurts the big record companies, but I think overall it helps musicians and music listeners, which of course is what matters more.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would sign a record contract with anyone if I liked the terms.
Band History:
I took piano lessons starting in elementary school. I wrote my first songs in middle school. I joined my first band during high school in Massachusetts, playing drums in Pavlov's Dogs. During college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison I played drums in a jazzy electronica fusion group called Electric Happy Hour, and I also played guitar in a R+B/afrobeat band called NO I. I moved to Tempe, Arizona in fall 2003 where I played in Elvie Jo, V and the Sexpots, and Prom Kings of Neptune. In 2007 I was hired for my first professional gig - playing rhythm and lead guitar for r+b cover band Fatal Attraction (www.fatalattractionband.com). In February 2009 I moved to Duxbury, MA and started playing guitar with Jeff Hilliard, Mudwrestlin, and Chowda.
Your influences?
I love all sorts of music, and I'm sure all of it has influenced me to some degree. Some of my biggest influences are Grateful Dead, Townes Van Zandt, The Band, Bob Dylan, Pavement, Miles Davis, Fela Kuti, Ice-T, and Van Halen.
Favorite spot?
Favorite spots: Jenny Lake at the Grand Tetons, Duxbury Beach in Duxbury, MA, the pond behind my parent's house, anywhere along the shore of the West Coast (I love big waves), my parent's back porch at night.
