CHICKEN ON BROADWAY is:
Jones = Guitar and Vocals
Hans = Bass
Markus = Trompete
Alex = Drums
Simi was the girlfriend of Andi. And Andi had a friend called Markus. On a beatiful summerday Andi came to a reharsal of the band "Alle Tiere Dieser Welt". The Members were Hans on the bass, jones on the guitar and alex was the drummer. From this moment on the band knew that Markus will be a new member of the band. According to this they changed their genre from Rock to Ska-Punk.
The Neighbourhood didn't want us anymore, although we played "Twist And Shout" from the Beatles everyday while thinking to pick exactly their flavour.
We were homeless and only some weeks later we got to play a gig. However, the trompete did a really got job, 'cause he found a new reharsal room in möllbrücke. It was a small cellar where another band called "Odium" rehersed their trash-metal songs. From this time on we torched Elly and Ingo.
The first gig together took place on the Burgstock Festival 2002, organized by some Friends from a Band called "Koi's Revenge". It was a huge show and we really had a lot of fun. Some small shows followed but the next nameable gig was as a support of the vienna punk band "3 Feet Smaller" in Ybbsitz. Best intruduction with one word: FUN.
After this gig the band changed it's name into: Chicken On Broadway....and now...
...we're here.
The only thing which is really important: The band has to be a good live act. Everything else isn't important. If you can make some party and have fun on stage and with the audience. These are the most special moments.
I think all of us got different influences but i think the most important are:
The Beatles, Slapstik, of course BOB MARLEY, but also Kings of Metal, Stoner Rock and Ska like Deftones, Reel Big Fish, SUBLIME, Soulfly, Machine Head, L.O.A, Rage Against The Machine, Kyuss and many many more...
