We are a three man group that played 26 years ago and about a year and a half ago decided it was time to start playing again. For the most part two acoustic guitars and an electric bass a little harmonica here and there. We have been playing coffee houses, business functions, private parties and campgrounds.
This all begins back in the mid 1960's, Jim started out with Standard Man, Wayne started out with The Illusions and Steve first played with Wayne in The Shagg, Wayne played with Acton Station for three years and after that all three of us hooked up for The Shakey Jake Band along with Jim's brother Chuck. We worked the bars in the area and also did weddings to make some decent money. This lasted for a few years and one thing lead to another and Jim and Wayne worked as a duo for several years but did not get the recognition we were looking for and that too ended. Twenty six years later and we have run sorta full circle. We are currently putting together a cd of original material with a Tascam 788 Portastudio but it just fried.
Yes we have played a lot of gigs this year and it is always interesting like the time I had the flu real bad and another time I had just started using a new bass and the pods shorted out after an hour so no bass, we did another hour and a half with the two acoustics and I did a lot of singing and playing harmonica. We got a standing ovation at the end of the night. It doesn't get much better than that.
Dan Fogelberg, America, Poco, The Eagles we really work on a lot of harmony tunes.
