Band History:
C-Ray, born Charlieray Perkins was like others, raised in a tough area by a single mother, along with his grandparents and uncles in Fayetteville, North Carolina, C-Ray had gotten his first taste of hip-hop when he was just the age of 9, sneaking into his oldest brother's cassetted tapes listening to Jay-Z's "Vol. 2: Hard Knock Life" Inspired but not committed, he waited, listened and studied hip- hop, At age 13 he would begin battling friends, strangers and associates alike only to discover his newfound drive and passion, he also began writing an endless amount of songs and formed a group with a childhood friend years later only to break up due to creative differences, in 2005, he adopted the ability to perfectly craft beats on his own when he struggled to find the right sound from various producers he worked with only to practice it himself which now gives him the "Slash Producer" title, C-Ray later began gaining a buzz in his school of E.E. Smith High by freestyling in lunchrooms, classrooms, etc. but it wasnt until he started performing at talent shows the people then started to take notice, C-Ray met fellow up and coming producer J. Bryant who introduced him to Philly artist "CEO" who was later amazed by the quality of the sounds in which C-Ray put together that he took him in as "FAM-LEE"

C-Ray also found the lord along the ride, joining Holy Temple Church Of God, which actually has a positive effect on him and his music, making his material a bit deeper and meaningful, though not an Gospel Artist, C-Ray would still rather be called an "Hip-Hop Artist" minus the guntalk, he performs his deeper tracks there to get an honest reaction from that type of circle, Having graduated in 2008, C-Ray was ready to pursue music full time only to realize that other things were a bit more important, soaking up advice from CEO to build a library and their empire to be over-prepared for the future, C-Ray chose to keep working and focus on his and the FAM-LEE brand accepting those who are dedicated and discarding those who don't have the drive to be in the Fam, C-Ray & CEO are still plotting on a takeover with FAM-LEE, and as C-Ray's journey progress in the coming years only time will tell if there really is sunshine after the rainstorm.
