Producer located in New York City. Musical taste includes everything from jazz to tribal house to hardcore to speed garage. Been into producing for 4 years,going out for 11. I enjoy producing Techno, House and Acid. Always expanding my musical horizons. I am into too much to just be commited to just one style, but at the same time because of my broad horizon, it takes a while to finish something because fresh ideas are always errupting.
Why this name?
Something i've had since i was 15 in my grafitti days. Used to be "defex" but a lot of people pronounced it wrong so i added an extra e.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
There are its ups and downs. A lot more stuff is available to you, and it's easier to know what's going on where. But for producers who aren't international superstars, It's unbeneficial. because once you release something, you'd want to see some sort of profit to go into your next project. wether it is new equiptment, or your next EP. I've never released anything, but i do understand where bigger producers come from when they talk about the money, and some people think they are in it just for money.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends, But not at this time. I would want to be more experienced with the music industry.
