I am easily inspired and obsessed with making and twisting sounds. I will typically put them into something abstract or obscure and screw it up or make it into a harmony depending on the mood of the piece. Reusing sounds is not a lack of creativity... it is recycling; something I'm sure most people in this day and age can appreciate.
Why this name?
I didn't chose my artist title. It chose me.
Do you play live?
Any special moments? There was this moment when everything seemed bleak and obscure ... and then there was Aphex Twin.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It's all experimental, collabs and remixing with various sounds, samples, noises, beatmachines, beatboxes, and VST synthesizer plugins. More a hobby, so probably not.
Band History:
I had a fascination for mixing back in the mid 90's and started shifting and mixing sounds together - old analog casette tape stuff really.
Your influences?
There have been many throughout my listening experience that have led me to rethink music and life. E.L.O.'s 'Don't Bring Me Down' lifted the kickstand; Iron Butterfly introduced me to great drum solos; Janis Joplin and Jimmy Hendrix made a believer out of me - you don't have to be beautiful to be beautiful; Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, David Bowie and The Beatles mystified me; Pink Floyd turned my ears upside down; Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' fed me Vincent Price and dark theatrics; Grandmaster Flash and Herby Hancock boggled my mind with mixing; George Clinton, Beck and James Brown funkafied my freaky soul; White Zombie, KMFDM, Ministry and Nine Inch Nails slithered mean industrial-tinged rock through my subconscious; I religiously headbanged to Metallica, Megadeth, Ozzy Osbourne, Pantera, Sepultura, Slayer and a slew of other heavy metal artists; House of Pain, Portishead, DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, Dr. Octagon, Del The Funky Homosapien, Run DMC, and Big Daddy Kane tripped hopping poetry from silence; and then there was electronica - CJ Bolland, Prodigy, Juno Reactor, Aphex Twin, Amon Tobin, Praga Khan, Art of Noise, Orbital, Underworld, Josh Wink and The Chemical Brothers have been my main influences.
Equipment used:
Acid Pro, Cubase, Reason, Magix, free live digital dj software and a laptop. I'll use things laying around to create noise and record it, but rarely.
