Founded and defined from Trenton Nj, comes Calaber, a rapper/mc, that represents the every day struggler and go getter. Calaber started blessing the mic and stage at the age of 14, Where he decided to pursue rap as his lifetime profession. Also with an interest in text and movies, after living through lifes trials and tribulations, at the age of 23, Calaber formed Crook'd youth ent. to represent himself and his dream. Putting out independent mix tape albums, would be his claim to "street fame". With such mixtapes as "Calaber....the mixtape", which is well known to Myspace, and the streets of NJ, feature anthems such as "Welcome to Trenton", "Put'em up", "Lets go", Cal captivates a street fanbase. Considering up and coming street album, Badass!, which reaches a wider spread of hard rock and heavy metal listeners with wild cuts such as, "UGOTMEf***EDUP", "Badass (not ur average)", "Make money",and "Streets wit me", Calaber has the ears of the creative youth captive. Known for presents, and the attraction to women, Calaber is memorable from shows in, Trenton,nj, Philadelphia, New york, and California for his unique stage presence. Something you would have to observe to believe, this is the future of hip-hop and the voice of the New World Order.
Why this name?
Calaber is taken from the word, caliber, which means a degree or grade of excellence or worth, which means I am my own Caliber of man, meaning yall cant see me on any level. Like a shpae shifter , I create my own.
Do you play live?
I love a live show, I feel it definds my music. You have to see theatricals to feel the same pain as the music. I've played in trenton several times, at maxines, the pheonix, planet havana. Black panther rallys, Colledge of New Jersey, and still waiting for more work.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Its a good and bad thing. Good because it can make music more global and more accessable to the listeners and consumers, and gives a wider spread of fanbase. Bad because it make it harder to sel units to a consumer market, which is harder for an independent like myself. But I can see the end of compact disc.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, as an artist, and yes as a company.
Your influences?
2pac, Hatebreed, Wu-tang clan, LLcoolJ, Big Pun, Nas, Tech N9ne
Favorite spot?
CALI FORN-I-A, Las Angeles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!all of it , San Fran too!
Anything else...?
