The name is Madness Beatz. I've recorded and made beats for many different upcoming artists; including Volume (aka Budd), JP (aka Mr. Green), Krook Bones, Frontline, Wick & Da'Mon (who you will all find on my mixtapes here). There have been many other people who I helped start their artistic side, but I do not claim their fame. Only the individual can make that happen. My style of beats started from listening to many different types of genres of music and distinguishing the different instrument sounds and beat patterns. I can make any style of beat, but I add some of my own flavor to the sound. I can not do anything alone as a man, everything comes from my Lord and Savior.
Why this name?
When I started making beats, everyone would always say that my beats were crazy. Someone once asked me to stop the madness before I hurt someone with my beats. Then I took the name Madness, at first just as my rapper name. But I stopped flowing to just become Madness Beatz. I've got a lot of nicknames, but the one that stuck was Hot Redz...because I like red.
Do you play live?
I like solitude, just to focus on what I'm doing. I let other MC's chew people up while I just create the atmosphere for torture on wax.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Yes. I remember a time when "The Box" use to be the only way someone could watch or listen to the newest Hip Hop music out. Now you can find mp3's even on mobile phones. It's like, I woke up one morning, and I found my phone brewing coffee and making me a bagel! What's next?!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course. What part of MAJOR LABEL did you not understand?
Band History:
I started off recording with some friends from back in high school in my garage/bedroom. We made so many mixtapes that we started to lose them. Where did they go? Ask your cousin Ray-Ray from across the street. We started recording since 1999, and this continued until 2006. Afterward, everybody started doing their own thing. Because to be honest, one is only accountable to one self...when it's convenient. It's hard to find real artists with ambition, desire, vision, and basically a dream bigger than themselves. I'm still cool with everyone, it's just hard to go back to old routines we use to do as young adults. But my goal is to become a producer who can help take someone with talent, bless the world with music that makes you move in one way or another. Now, I will admit. I started off my image as foul mouth, strong subject content rapper. But I want to clear that up...I was young, ignorant, single and stubborn during these times. That all changed after I found out Who's I was and what I was meant for. Even though I don't rap the way I use to, my love for creating music will never stop. I don't consider myself as a preacher, because a preacher has to practice what he preaches. That goes the same for anyone claiming that they're a thug or gangsta. People can tell a mile away if you are real or a copy. I would rather you choose the latter.
Your influences?
The legends: Timbaland, The Neptunes & Dr. Dre. You can throw in everyone else afterward, but they don't compare to these pioneers.
Favorite spot?
Are you for real? Tampa.
Equipment used:
Just my computer, a lot of blank CD's, and 99.9% of my brain.
Anything else...?
First honor your Lord and Savior. Second honor your spouse and family. And in the process you will gain your own respect. Once you've got this down, everyone else will respect you...and in the process, your fans will serve and honor you.
