NEWS   AMERICAN ICON has released its first recording on January 1st, 2000 over the Internet. The mini-album, entitled "Time Machine", is a concept album set in the near future. Its main character, an astronaut working for the NASA Space Program, is scheduled to rendezvous with an Earth orbiting satellite, where he will test pilot the experimental time machine. Having recently lost his wife to cancer, he has decided to forgo his orders in an attempt to reunite with his dead wife. The story revolves around his thoughts on his journey from Earth to the space station, and ultimately, the outcome of his decision.

From the ashes of the 80’s hard rock band "Spellsyngr" comes the blistering new sound of "AMERICAN ICON". Fueled by the writing talents of its two co-founders, Lanny Wright Jenkins(a.k.a. Lannster Phoenix) and Keith Michael Chester (The Kidd) - AMERICAN ICON has released their first recording, a mini concept album entitled "Time Machine", on January 1st, 2000 over the Internet. Also scheduled for an Internet release, their second recording entitled "Unsettled Harvest", will be due in March of 2000. These two recordings are merely a primer for the their third release, "PROPAGANDA", their first full-feature recording, due in the fourth quarter of 2000.
Why this name?
We were looking for something larger than life... we decided that the title used to represent the collective lives of everyone famous in American history, was AMERICAN ICON.
Do you play live?
Yes, though we've been locked up in studios for a year or so.
