Why this name?
I've heard a few ppl on tv say that otha ppl should nickname you..... Thas kool it's they opinion but in mine I disagree. I mean who knows you better than you....???? Therefor if your wit tha whole alternate name thang I beleive that it should be to your picking and liking. FivStar is what I kame up with when I thought about myself even before I started writin music. I knew there were so many sides to me that we kall personalities that made up who I was as an individual. Why a star you may ask, the term Five Star represents tha highest level something is rated at in it's kategory. I am always attempting to strive for what I want at a high level, which in turns falls into tha FivStar kategory. I remember a moment in my life when I was in highschool and certain ppl were tryin ta question who I was as a person to break me because they did'nt like me. I was young (17) and I'm not gon lie they got to me but I'm a very deep thinker and when I looked to what was drivin them ta be tha way they were it was simply two reasons: I had a head full of earrings(lol) and I was "Bein Myself For Myself" and they kould'nt handle who I was simply.......... FivStar
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet makes it to where anybody kan be heard by anyone, which in my opinion is a double-edged sword. The Internet kan help by making someone who was unknown and would never have the konnections or resources to a certain fan base of music get their oppurtunity through music and/or videos. The only problem (IN MY OPINION) is that their is no way to filter what people do or say. So now music is anything goes with only tha mainstream as a politically correct way of doing music, problem is their are only a few people who kan make it mainstream (For certain reasons) which leaves everybody else sayin f*** it and turnin to the internet. I don't beleive in their being a best artist, popular yes but best know it's simply a matter of your opinion a music taste and the internet let's you pick your flavor and indulge in whateva artist you may like yourself included.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I doubt that would happen anytime soon I have less than a year of recording experience and I have alot to learn about tha studio and recording techniques. I'm not ballin byfar so I kan only be in tha studio so often, but when I'm their I try ta make tha most of it. Something I kinda like ta do now is watch otha ppl and how they do things because every last one of us karry kharecteristics in us like people we know or have seen, so I jus kinda take something from everybody jus like you and impliment it into my own artistic nature.
Band History:
{Mid December 2008} I was at home konvincing myself that I would finally make a New Years Resolution that would be something that would not only benefit me as a person but also others. I've always been good wit words so I knew my resolution would include something with me speakin to people in some kind of way. I neva really tried anything that put me to tha test poetry and stories were 2 things I never did because they were jus to kalm. My brother was a rapping machine feuled by Pac and I kinda played wit freestyling with him but I always knew we were two diffrent ppl, problem was tha kinda music that I liked didn't deal with violence, drugs, gangs, and disrespectin women. So as you kan see I didn't have to many places to turn for music so when I did listen it was mostly R&B. Now don't get me wrong I listened to rap music but with some of it I jus said otha sh*** or jus kinda toned it out. So when thought of what to do I had to put myself into perspective. I always liked instrumentals because you kould jus put whatever you like to'em so I decided why not jus write songs and find out what I sound like on'a beat that's been recorded in'a studio. I've done some lil bs on a home studio before but nothing serious, I also had like 4 partial songs I had wrote but once again nothing to serious. After talkin to this girl I had jus met she had told me about this studio she went to after we talked about music and I explained what I was tryna do "Koincidence....?" I don't think so everything happens for a reason. Anyway I got tha info and kalled tha studio to get pricing and set up a session. My first time in I was hella nervous but the engineer did a good job of explaning to me how to record kuz I jus tried ta blaze thew tha whole damn song LOL!!! My resolution is still a work in progress, but it is progress and it's funny because now my resolution has turned into a dream when I didn't have one and now I'm focused on jus simply making music. {R&ME 2010}
Your influences?
Aaliyah is my favorite artist period point blank. Reason being is because when I was growing up I wasn't into music AT ALL but she was so beautiful that I wanted to hear what she had ta say. She did'nt bash on dudes, or kuss all she did was displayed 2ME a few things I liked in ladies. She also sung about experiences that I pictured in my head and kame to love her >>>AS A FAN<<< for. I think she played a lil roll in my respect and admiration for women because I had tha biggest krush on MamaGurl LOL! I think she's tha reason why I think ladies first when I do songs and I NEVER would be disrespecting or degrading to them in >>>MY SONGS<<< R.I.P Aaliyah......

My biggest influence is life itself because without life their is no experience. EVERYTHING that has happened in my life has happened to develop me into who I am now and I would never wish anything to happen different in my life.
