Ralph Atkinson
Hi!

I'm a guitarist, singer and songwriter currently living in Toronto, Canada. I've been performing music in one way or another since the mid '60's, starting out singing tenor in a barbershop quartet with my brothers and then into a progression of bands playing rock, jazz, blues and country and... whatever. It's been a fun ride so far and I'm still as exited about it as the day I began. I'm hearing some great music here on SoundClick and I'm here to share mine with you.

Ralph Atkinson
Why this name?
It's my name.
Do you play live?
I do play live but right now I'm 'playing dead'.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It made the the big labels beg for mercy and forced them to get hip or abandon ship.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not without a good lawyer. So, what are the chances?
Band History:
I've been playing in bands since hamburgers cost a quarter but I'm not in one currently.
Your influences?
Rock, blues, jazz, country and many of their subgenres. Actually, every sound I hear.
Favorite spot?
The Maritime Provinces of Canada
Equipment used:
I play a 1970 Les Paul, 1975 Telecaster thinline, a new Strat, Shiraki acoustic, Ibanez acoustic, a cheap lap steel, Squier Jazz Bass, and an M-Audio Axiom 49 midi keyboard. I'm recording on an iMac in Logic Pro 9.
Anything else...?
I picked blues rock as a genre because I had to pick something. I think you have to add the word jazz in there since I'm drawing more and more from that influence. Blues/Jazz/Rock sounds like a better descriptor.
