Why this name?
The only reason I chose KLT was because Trace was taken and my old name (Goldfingah) was way too superficial...and dumb.
Do you play live?
Unfortunately, I haven't had to opportunity to play live yet. I would love to though.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It helps everybody get their sound out there. For better or worse, the internet is the prime reason for the current state of hip-hop.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course! As long as I don't get too commercial for my own good.
Band History:
I've been making beats as a hobby since 2006. To make a long story short, I think this is a very fun hobby.
Your influences?
My favorite producers are DJ Premier, J Dilla, 9th Wonder, Pete Rock, Khrysis, The Alchemist, Black Milk, Madlib, and Stoupe from Jedi Mind Tricks. I LOVE underground hip-hop!
Favorite spot?
Born and raised in west side Detroit. Times are bad for my city right now, but we'll get through it.
Equipment used:
MPC 2000XL, Reason 4.0, Recycle, Cool Edit Pro, Numark DM 1002 MKII mixer, Stanton STR-80 turntable, and a nice collection of vinyls.
