About the song
I wrote this piece for cellist Luis Leguia for a concert presented by Just In Time Composers, a composers' collaborative in Massachusetts. He was playing a difficult program, including the Kodaly unaccompanied piece, so he asked for a simpler piece, perhaps a lullaby. I was having trouble with insomnia, so a lullaby did not come easily to me. Instead, this piece depicts the restless mind wandering through life's events, in the end finally finding rest.
