Recipe for a Redbird:
• Take 1 lb. of the versatility of Buddy Guy and Son Seals
• Add a generous splash of the showmanship of Elvis, T-Bone Walker and James Brown
• Add 1 pint each of the distilled raunch of Howlin’ Wolf, Omar & The Howlers and Big Joe Turner
• Mix in 3 cups of respect for Muddy Waters, Elmore James and all three Kings (BB, Albert & Freddie)
• Coat the mixture with a sprinkling to taste of parts Colin James, Stevie Wonder, Popa Chubby, Little Milton, Louis Prima and James Burton
• Toss in a blender and bake in a nightclub all night long

Why this name?
It came from a little statue of a cardinal wearing sunglasses and playing guitar.

We do indeed play live all over the GTA. We live for it. The only way to truly experience The 'Bird.

It puts the independent players on an even field with the big labels.

Dispensing a crowd-pleasing mix of Blues, Funk, Swing and R&B "party-tunes" with humor and energy is the primary goal of this band and they always deliver.
Redbird has been burning up the scene since exploding into the public eye in mid 2001. They have blown away nightclub owners and audiences across the GTA with an electrifying and mesmerizing live performance.
They are also in high demand for corporate bookings due to their extensive knowledge of material and their reputation for delivering a fun-filled event.
TO-Nite magazine calls Redbird “a unit with so much promise you may need sunglasses when you see 'em” and says they “straddle the line where Blues and R&B meet Rock 'n' Roll. And they do it with an exuberance that's impossible to resist”.
Redbird was specifically designed to be unlike any other band playing today. And they are.
