Why this name?
The first couple of times we got together we did not click. J-Flex. said we sound like a Trainreck, but worse! and it just stuck.
Do you play live?
We've played at The Enforcers Club, Home Runs, Connoly's, Average Joe's, Swampgrass Willy's and 1 for the Road. There is an energy we feel on stage that makes all the Crap we go through during the week, just go away. It feels like we're 18 and indestructable again. The more musicians I talk too, the more it's about "That Feeling" that makes what they do worth it. There's not a lot of money doing local clubs. The pay scale is the same from 20 years ago. Bar owners are hurting (insurance, renting, patrons drinking less "DWI"), they just can't pay bands anymore.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Great source of contact, various sites and music streaming makes it cool. The industry went from having your band gig at as many places as possible to get known (1960's & 70's), To making a video in Jersey and people responding to you in Germany (1980's & 90's). Unfortunately, the tremendous exposure has created bands to not tour and just play "Web - Cam Band". If they see themselves online then they feel like they've made it. That's o.k. if that's what you want. Also, people are not buying C.D.'s like they used to. Everything is shared & burned and the artists are the ones who get screwed. People were pissed at Metallica for fighting Napster years ago because they saw these sales problems pending. It's great if you're in a band and want to get known, but if want to make money from C.D. sales, you're dead. It's funny how the internet has made bands get out and tour again. Everything comes around full circle!!!!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, They still have the tools to promote bands better than I do. They are involved with quality engineers, producers and recording studios. we're just not that involved with that stuff.
Band History:
J-Flex plays with Steve Vai & Joe Satriani on the G3 Tour when it comes to Florida.
Eli tutors Joe Perry & "Keef" before each tour.
Nicky G fills in for Neal Peart on occasion.
Mongo plays with himself.............. a lot.
Hurricane works with Robin Trower.

Your influences?
The Three Stooges, The Marx Brothers, Milli Vanilli and Barbra Streisand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Favorite spot?
The "G" spot. N.Y.C. was always great. The Culture Room, Revolutions, The Enforcers Club, Swampgrass Willy's. South Florida's a great place to live. There is nowhere better to be from November thru March!!!!!!!!! The cold sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!
Equipment used:
Marshall, Acoustic, G.K., Tama, Fender, Kramer, Gibson, Aria, Yamaha, Boss, D'Addario, Peavey, Mackie and Sure.
Anything else...?
Having a great time with good friends in this band. We enjoy creating these original songs together and re-vamping classic covers. It's so cool when people request our songs and sing our lyrics back to us as we jam on stage.
