Why this name?
We spent about a year to choose the bandname. =) There was a lot of choices. We wanted to have the name with the sence that we like, easy to remember and it should be clear that we play Power Metal. So we decided to call our band "HAMMERFORCE"
Do you play live?
Yes, we play live. Mostly in Saint-Petersburg (our native city). But sometimes we go to other cities and towns. And of course we like that! We are ready to play anywhere and anytime! Just call us! =)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is very hard to sell CDs because most people prefer to download files over internet. Many of them use pirate sites or P2P nets to download music for free. Labels can't sell as much CDs as they used to 10-20 years ago. So it is much harder to earn money by the music. But the other side is that internet greatly helps to gain popularity. Things has changed and we have to adapt.
As for us, we've decided to make our first album available for free download from our site. Otherwise most people will download it from P2P nets or pirate sites. We have CDs as well, so people can buy them and support us. Those who don't want to buy a CD but still want to support us simply can donate some funds and support the band by that.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes we would! Everyone must do his own job. Labels must sell music, because they know how to do that well. Bands must play and record music because its their job. We don't think that it is good for the band if it sells its music itself. But often bands have to do that. Because there isn't much offers from labels for now. They ussualy want to sign famous enough bands. So we just gain our popularity and wait for offers...

Your influences?
First of all many Power Metal bands such as Helloween, Gamma Ray, Kamelot, Blind Guardian, Stratovarius, Rhapsody, Vision Divine and many others.
Also great influence came from Melodic Death Metal bands such as In Flames, Children Of Bodom, Kalmah, etc.
And you can hear a bit of electronic music influence that came mostly from 90's Eurodance.
