Based in Lakeland, Florida. Empty Hand South/C-10 Records was founded in 2006 as the new umbrella company for Gary, Indiana's Empty Hand Records/Stray Shot Entertainment.
EHS/C10's artist activities began with the collaborative efforts of D-Kon and then upstart J. Codeine. D-Kon who had recently moved back to Florida from the Gary/Chicago hip hop scene, decided to bring the imprint that had given him so much love along for the ride. Signing some local artists and developing a following in the area.
Empty Hand South have been successfully complemented by a growing roster of both established artists and developing talent. Recently a long-term exclusive license agreement with several new artists has been reached and thereby secured a pre-eminent rap catalog. EHS/C10 Entertainment's rapid expansion is reflected in its growing number fans.
Empty Hand South/C10 Records has assembled a strong team with both major and independent record label experience and has built a dedicated staff of professionals. By leveraging its distribution and marketing capabilities, EHS/C10 Entertainment has been able to rapidly capitalize on the widening gap in independent labels by catering to established talent, as well as emerging artists. Empty Hand South has strategically positioned itself to successfully develop and market artists which do not (or no longer want to) fit the major-label mold, but who are also beyond the smaller independents.
