Why this name?
The "Jay" part of my stage name comes from Jonathan. I am often called "Jay" for short. The "Nice" part of my stage name comes from always making "Nice" music. Often when I would complete a studio session, people in the studio would say things like, "That's sounds nice, you have a nice flow, and (ect)." Eventually, people just combined the two and began calling me "Jay Nice".
Do you play live?
Yes, I do play live. I play a lot regionally. The concerts typically get pretty wild, which is AWESOME. That is why I keep making music. Usually, I play LIVE the most during school season at Illinois State University; I do a lot of freestyles at the college parties.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet DRASTICALLY changes the music industry by giving people instant access to the proper exposure that they may deserve. The internet allows musicans to promote their music and possibly sign with "Independent" or even "Major"record labels.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Ultimately, it all depends on the offer being presented. The number one thing for ANY ARTIST is to "KNOW THE FACTS OF THE MUSIC BUSINESS!!!" If the offer being presented is fair, then I would most definitely sign with a major record label.

Your influences?
I believe life itself is the influence for all my music. However, I enjoy listening to Logic, Asher Roth, Mac Miller, Common, Lupe Fiasco, Mos Deff, JadaKiss, Drake, and Yelawolf.
Favorite spot?
Illinois State University!!!!!!!!!!! Go Redbirds!!!! CHICAGO, IL is definitely my city. Milwaukee has always been good to me too and Tampa is on the list as well. When I am not in those cities, I enjoy being in my hometown of Gurnee, IL. There is no place like home.
