YA Favorite Artist Favorite Artist Tiec Tocc!!!! There very rarely comes a time when we are graced with artists who write, perform, produce, and arrange their own material. In an industry where marketing has become the focal point, very seldom are true talents allowed to shine through. Master Adam McCall, a Los Angeles native, & Atlanta resident proves beyond a reasonable doubt he is the coming of a new era. Better know through the music industry as Tiec-Tocc, Tiecc is a walking, talking, beat making machine, who not only rendezvous as a producer, but a writer, performer, and ever so talented artist. With enough talent, and musical diversity that will surely land him producing for some the greatest artists of all time, Tiec creates music that is timeless. "This was a gift from GOD, and I treat it accordingly. Without my family, without GOD, I wouldn't be. I don't make music, music makes me" states Tiec. Humbling words for a 22 year old musical prodigy, and a prodigy he is. Tiec has been making music since he could remember, and maybe what?s even more impressive is the fact that he plays the keys, the drums, percussion, guitar, and has been known to get on the 1's and 2's. "I left home when I was 15, and I went on a mission, I went city to city, giving beats away for free to anybody who wanted one. Soon word spread, and rappers started asking, "How much can I get a beat for?", from that point on this is all I've known. I don't encourage kids to leave home the way I did, but it was my love for music that pushed me out the door. I couldn't see myself doing anything else, and if I didn't leave I wasn't sure what was going to become of me" explains Tiec. His cross country expedition might have been a good thing, because Tiec soon found himself collaborating with: Brotha Lynch Hung, Keak Da Sneak, J-Ro and the Likwit Crew, Wolfpac, Styles, San Quinn , Mike Mosley, Rick Rock, TQ, Richie Rich, Kokane, Jayo Felony, D-Shot, E-40, and B-Legit. Quite a resume for someone who left home before he could drive to follow his dreams, so what does Tiec feel like he's missing now? "I don?t just produce for hip-hop artists. It's important for people to understand that. Yes, I got my start producing for some of the most talented MC's out there, but I don't want to be held to just solely producing hip-hop." Though he has produced on the upcoming Lady of Rage album, and the forthcoming KAGE album, Tiec's about to show the world that he is much more than just a hip-hop producer. He has just wrapped up producing a 17 track, freshmen LP for Ahrae, an upcoming pop phenomenon, that he assures us will "reset the game." Tiec's musical influences stretch across a vast spread of genres. He credits artists, and producers such as: Trent Reznor, Prince, DJ Quick, Stevie Wonder, Basement Jaxxx, Mike Mosley, Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Quincy Jones, and Dr. Dre, along with a slew of others for inspiring him. "You give credit where credit is due. Imagine if you never heard a Dr. Dre beat; imagine the music industry without Rick James, or Guns-N-Roses. You can't take talents like that for granted, because at the end of the day every new singer, every new producer, every new writer took notes somewhere along the road." And he is absolutely right, thus we can only thank these musical influences for guiding him to fulfill his destiny. "Great record companies are built on their own sound, it's not enough to just have great talent, you have to have your own sound" says Julian T. Edwards, CEO of Shadoworld Records, Inc. Edwards continues to add, "Jimmy Iovine has Dr. Dre, Mariah Carey has Jermaine Dupri, and I have Tiecc. There are thousands of producers out there, but they are re-creating, instead of innovating. Tiec is an innovator." Tiec prepares himself for a 2009 third quarter release, of a 16 track freshmen LP, cleverly enough entitled Tiec Tocc He is I and I am Him. The man behind the boards has opened up, impressing us with a soulful R&B sound, which was impressively produced, written, and arranged by yours truly, Tiec himself. Burning Waterz is timeless, the beats incredible, and the lyrics are impeccable. "This project is my baby. Every aspect of this album reflects some part of who I am. Every song on the record is a reflection of something that I have felt, or have been through. Burning Waterz is me, it's me in my entirety." Tiec has learned that the price of success comes at a very expensive cost, "I get so consumed with working, that some days I forget to go outside, and needless to say my personal life is now just a memory." "I don't care who's got now. I've got next now."
