I'm just a fan of music, from Breakbeat to Hiphop, Trance, Rock, Down Tempo, you name it. The best of it will always have an underlying FUNK that makes your head nod. Lately I've been dabbling in making some of my own music .. this is for my entertainment not yours, but if you like it, then cool.

If in any case you want to use a beat, you must get permission. I typically lease them for around $50 a pop, or by other arrangements.
Why this name?
Freshman/Fresh has been my alias from day one.
Do you play live?
I often play live as the host of The Funkyard on WHYS Radio 96.3, Saturdays 5-7pm. A special moment is anytime a stranger walks up to you and says they dig the music you play :)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet and P2P sharing gives people worldwide a chance to discover new sounds that they might have never found otherwise. Many people find their new favorite artist by downloading a track of theirs or listening to it on streaming audio, and likewise artists have found new fans thanks to the Internet. However, the intellectual property rights of musicians have often been neglected, with many freeloaders without regard for the work put into a given song. As the market for Internet-delivered music matures, efforts need to be made to bring things back into balance.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure.
Band History:
I picked up some software and started working on beats for rap purposes, primarily to help my friend D'cyple with his work. Then, I just went off in a few different directions. Shazaam.

The music has expanded, and crossed over into genres such as Breakbeat, Big Beat, Trip-hop, Progressive and Trance influenced by my favorite big name artists like Crystal Method, Fluke, Hybrid, Cirrus, Eminem, Jay-Z and many others. And even more inspiration has come from underground and independent artists like Bitsmart, BuZ, my good friend D'cyple, local rapper Salvation, local beat technicians like Sweet Beets and Keyzer and Subsyde.
Your influences?
anything that I can just mentally connect to. And I can connect with some of these guys:

Chris Carter, Rob Reng, NineLiveTheCat, The Crystal Method, Thievery Corporation, Hybrid, Lee Coombs, Plump DJs, Dan F, Massive Attack, Cirrus, Will Smith, Eminem, 2Pac, D'cyple, Chemical Brothers, BuZ, Bitsmart, Dirty Vegas.. lots.
Favorite spot?
The sights and scenes at Tampa Bay, FL with a wallet full of twenties.
Equipment used:
My voice, my fingers, my mind, my patience. My beat-voodoo!
Anything else...?
Its just for fun, kids. Maybe you'll like something here, maybe not. If you do, drop me a line.
