play lo-fi play hi-fi  Maybe You'll Be Mine
I'm a singer/songwiter originally from Texas. I used to be a lounge lizard but got tired of doing everyone else's music and now I do only what I love to do of mine or someone else's and I get to avoid the venues that are smoky and filled with drunks. All in all I'm grateful for this way to present my music.
Why this name?
It's my name
Do you play live?
Yes Anywhere Yes Yes
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives the artist and the listeners a freedom that breeds a whole lot of creativity. It takes the power out of the bean counters hands to tell us what we'll perform and what people are going to listen to. Yeah! for the internet!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Who knows.. Maybe... I'm not sure I want to give up that much control. It can be like signing a deal at the "crossroads" if you know what I mean...
Band History:
I've been singing in public since I was three. Apparently I made an unscheduled debut at my great grandmother's funeral. As a teenager I started being paid to sing for people. That was a better way to go I decided than funerals....although I've done my fair share of weddings. Now I look for smoke free venues.
Your influences?
Joni Mitchell, Sara McLaughlin (my apology if I spelled it wrong) Jann Arden, Dar Williams
Favorite spot?
The Pacific NW
Anything else...?
I welcome comments... if you have any.
