I'm is a solo singer/guitarist (who resorts of other instruments as well for recordings, even if she's not very good at it) from a small town in Connecticut. Working solo right now, I've been mostly just writing and learning about recording using my computer and some of my dad's equipment. I was in a band and would eventually like to be in another one again, but for now, I'm just playing my acoustic guitar and writing songs.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it totally revolutionizes the music industry, especially for independent artists who always have to struggle to be heard. The internet is a fantastic way to get your music heard and reach an audience, who, otherwise would never know your song existed.
Your influences?
So many. I have been inspired by female artists (from rock to indie to folk to alternative), for instance: Veruca Salt, Garbage, Kay Hanley and Letters to Cleo, Tracy Bonham, Sleater-Kinney, Mary Prankster, and many more. Other bands I adore and have been inspired by are the Pixies, Sonic Youth, Stroke 9, The Dandy Warhols, too many to name all of them. So what do I sound like? Well none of the above, really. I sound like me, and I can't describe it any better than that.
