SoundClick artist: GMNI - Hip Hop Soloist trying to put Alabama on the map

One of the first real hip hop acts out of Alabama, GMNI formally of Nothin' 2 Lose, has set out to put his state on the map. With the mojority of his debut solo LP recorded at Los Town Entertainment in Atlanta, GA, the latter will soon come to pass. With production from up n comers Kookie Mo Monsta(Co-wrote Walk Like A Soldier by 404 Soldiers), Charles Brown of Aquimini recording group G'Ane, Crucifix and by GMNI himself, his debut album Shadows is sure to have people listening and taking notice.

Why this name?

GMNI is just my spelling for the zodiac sign Gemini. I chose it because it describes my split personalities.

Do you play live?

I've performed at the Alabama Juneteenth Festival 3 years and running, Tuskegee Playaz Picnic 01, and a variety of nightclubs in Alabama and Georgia respectivly.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

It definitly give a greater outlet for small groups and artist to get there name out all over the world. I can people listening to my music in Australia and so forth. All on my own from the comfort of my house. Its also more cost effective and efficient.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes, just for the fact that I can't do everything by myself, and having someone the money to put behind the manufactured material is still a need in out society today because everyone still doesn't have access to a computer.

I got many influences as for how I relate on wax. From Scarface, Geto Boys, NWA, Bone Thugs, Outkast, DMX, BIG.
