Hello, I'm Dave and I like to make music with a guitar and drum program.
Why this name?
I wanted to be a music artist that was mostly a death/thrash metal act that did a little bit of rap here and there. So I thought to myself "What's one word that can kind of remind you of an underground rapper and has a horror flick kind of vibe to it?". So "Eviscerator" just seem to set that sort of mood.
Do you play live?
I have tried playing live yet. Should be interesting since I'm a one-man project
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Makes music a lot more accessable. The internet can pretty much be a little bit of a realm of its own where you can go pretty much anywhere you want and dig as deep as you'd like as far as searching and researching for music. You don't have to settle for what's shoved into your ear over the radio or MTV.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I've been given advice that I'd have to have a fairly large fanbase before doing such a thing in order to prevent any screw overs. I'm not too sure of what would happen if I were to sign with an underground label and depending on which label, the story could play differently. If anything, I'd rather have a close and dependable friend that already has connections or is really involved in that business helping me out.
Band History:
Not much history involved. I'm just a man with guitar gear and a laptop with recording and drum programs installed.
Your influences?
Chuck Schuldiner is a major influence on my guitar playing technique. I try as best as I can to do my own kind of thing with the vocals and drum patterns.
Favorite spot?
San Diego (so far)
Equipment used:
RG series Ibanez guitar, Digitech RP 350, Fruity Loops Studio, Magix Audio Wav file
Anything else...?
Y'know, I'd REALLY like to make it big somehow. Otherwise, wish me luck on winning at least $23,000,000 in the lottery or something.
