Why this name?
I chose this bandname as a kind of play on DJ Premier's name. He's one of my favorite producers of all time, so I decided to go with a name similar to his.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet provides many opportunities to many up-and coming musicians with large amounts of talent. It gives them chances that they otherwise wouldn't have because of not being signed to a major label.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes I would. That would grant me the opportunity to then help other talented artists get signed.
Your influences?
I try to be unique and different, but sometimes I can't help but be influenced by hip-hop's greatest producers such as DJ Premiere, Pete Rock, J Dilla, Ski, and even Kanye West.
Favorite spot?
I'm from Los Angeles, but my favorite city would have to be New York, even though I have never traveled there. I just love New York because it's the birthplace of hip-hop.
Equipment used:
Akai MPC 2500, E-mu SP1200, PT-01 Numark USB Vinyl Player, Pro Tools 9, Reason 5, and lots of records to chop and sample.
