I'm nineteen, I live in Quebec, and I spend my free time composing. I'm learning music since I started piano at the age of eight, and I'm now studying it in attempt to become a professional musician/composer.

The quality of the sound in most of my music is just very poor because it is either me playing recorded with my iPod Touch, or a program playing. I use Finale 2006, and sometimes the sound is not what I want it to be. But you can still enjoy it, I hope!

And also, I looove photography, so I own all the pictures except the ones for Short Ice Age Theme and Jim M.O.P.

I won the contest "Show Us Your Color" of Stephan Moccio!! : http://showusyourcolor.com/ The first prize! I will be performing an opening set of one of his concert in Toronto this fall :D
Why this name?
Para is used as a prefix and it means that something is abnormal, unusual, atypical. So...
Do you play live?
I don't really play live, just sometimes compositions on piano in school concerts, or clarinet interpretation, with the Orchestre de Jeux Vidéos.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it helps getting known easily, but it kind of kills the cd industry, and it is also easier for someone who has no label, to get his music stolen.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Probably, if it doesn't force me to abandon my studies.
Your influences?
I really like film music, so I am influenced by Hans Zimmer, John Williams, John Powell, etc. But most of the time I don't really stick to this. I unintentionally add elements from other styles... And I also compose things for piano solo, or little and unusual ensembles of instruments. I also do a bit a pop music, and I am influenced a lot by Regina Spektor. She is the only "pop" artist I really listen to.
Favorite spot?
Hum... Boston Public Garden, Central Park, even if I visited Boston twice and New York only once!
Equipment used:
A piano, Finale 2006, my friend who records most of my pieces on his computer directly from Finale, sometimes my iPod touch if I sing (which does not happen often!) or play piano, my inspiration and my feelings !
Anything else...?
I'm also a writer (in French, because I speak French!), and I love cinema. (That's kind of why I want to compose music for movies...) I also love to take pictures!
