Why this name?
The band name came from when my pops used to make mix tapes back in his hay day. He would make tapes for different functions with the newest music that was hot back then. (a lot of it still is. that's where everybody gets their samples from) On every single tape he would make, he would have an introduction song. The song would pretty much describe what the theme of the tape was and he would talk over the song, (DJ-ing) and what gave me the idea for mine was i liked when the intro would start and my pops would say, "WELCOME... TO THE MASTERSON HOUSE OF SOUND!" It was the coolest thing i ever heard. (because it was my pops doing it) So I just shortened up Masterson House Of Sound to M.H.O.S. RECORDS and made it my own with my own sound.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think that the internet has evolutionized the way that we sell our music to the public. It makes it a whole lot easier to reach the unreachable. It also gives promotion a whole new light. With the Myspaces and Facebooks and Soundclicks, there is a new audience to reach every time.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It all depends on the terms of the contract. I dont care how much money is on the wood, i need to able to keep all my masters to everything.
Russell Simmons, Tupac Shakur, Run DMC, Souljah Boy Tell em, Outkast... etc. Pretty much anybody that opens up new doors for their generation or the generations to come.
I'll get back to you on that one
Protools LE 8, Waves Mercury and Reason 4.
