A King Alone

Born in the town of Marysville, CA as Cameron Pacheco on January 18th 1989 A.K.A. moved to San Luis Obispo, CA in the heart of the central coast in ’93. His passion for the arts started in the 6th grade when he began writing poetry. A.K.A. won multiple poetry contests within the next few years; by the time he was in high school his passion for poetry had developed to the point where he would turn it into music. Once this fire started it could not be stopped and as soon as he graduated from SLO High he set out to turn his dream of making music a reality. In 2009 A King Alone released his first mix tape “The Soundz Good Movement Vol. 1 ‘24ever’ ” in Boise, ID (this cd was written, produced, and recorded all by the one and only A.K.A.) And now as his story progresses A.K.A. has found his new home in Long Beach where he is currently working on SGM Volumes 2 & 3. This mix is highly anticipated; he will be working with artist from all over California. A.K.A. prides himself on his unique sense of style which can be seen through his music: he never wants a song to sound the same. He feels that music cannot be true to ones style and emotion if it is uniform and will work with anyone if it sounds good, regardless of their genre. This is how he came up with the name The Soundz Good Movement “Cause if it don’t sound good I aint doing it”. When he is not producing he still keeps his passion for poetry alive with two compilations awaiting publishing ‘Regression of Time’ and ‘When Where and Never Was’. Admirers appreciate AKA’s ability to keep it real. He ultimately would like to open his own record label in order to give local artist in every genre the ability to be heard. Lastly when it comes to music and life in general he says: “Live your passion love your life.” As long as AKA’s making the music he loves and staying true to himself he can’t go wrong!
