Less Than A Second was formed in Auburndale in the latter part of 2006. Founding member, drummer, Brandon Crowley, hooked up with bassist Billy Zimmer and the two started playing together and looking for other musicians to fill the rest of the lineup. Shortly thereafter, Billy invited a long-time acquaintance, guitarist/vocalist Pat Hearn, to audition. After parting ways with their first front man the trio brought on Josiah Callihan and Andrew Garner as a second guitarist. They immediately set to writing and booking shows all over Florida. Blending alternative and indie rock styles and throwing in screaming vocals and guitar harmonies Less Than A Second created a sound all their own.

Lineup changes have been made and Andrew was replaced with guitarist Casey Ash and after going through three drummers Trent Medley was finally placed behind the kit. The new quintet now based in Lakeland has begun writing new songs and is moving towards a heavier style, incorporating aggressive breakdowns while still maintaining a melodic sound. The band is planning on returning to the studio to record a full length album and tour in the summer.

They have played numerous shows including many battle of the bands and have shared the stage with Tooth and Nail artist Since October as well as Skillet, Pillar, and Seventh Day Slumber. Building a fan base nationwide and making contacts with many other local bands Less Than A Second is gaining widespread recognition.
