Sunrise at Basin Harbor aims to celebrate all that is grand about a peaceful getaway on a calm summer day. The music is soulful and contemplative. With the piano taking the lead, the violin and cello join in this chamber work to bring about expressions of exuberance that remind one of pleasant summer mornings in Vermont. Written entirely in Apple’s Logic, the music is mastered to deliver a mood that is part classical, part modern.

The title is meant to call to mind the perfect summer getaway resort, the Basin Harbor Club in Vermont. The resort has been a mainstay summer vacation spot for the Lyttleton family going on 5 years now. The warmth of the staff and facility is certainly recognized in the song titles.
* Jerry is the assistant at the golf shop that can set a perfect mood for that start-of-day round on the course. Always jolly and helpful, Jerry’s place in Basin Harbor is truly valuable.
* Greenledge is name of the cottage on the lake that serves as the regular HQ for the Lyttletons. A perfect setting, the cottage is in a wooded area and overlooks the lake. In fact, the cover art depicts a typical situation on the patio at Greenledge.
* Roddy is the consummate bar tender in the main lodge. He has been a staple of the Basin Harbor staff for many years. We can’t imagine a summer there without his unmistakable charm and delightfully gruff presence.
* The Ranger Room is the buffet room that serves unbelievable breakfasts and lunches. The Extravaganza refers to the bountiful offerings that exist to allow one to indulge beyond reason.
* The Reeves are Mark, Andrea and Parker who are dear friends of the Lyttletons. They are the perfect partners for the Basin Harbor stay. From partnering at golf to yoga, they certainly make the stay most enjoyable. One of our favorite gatherings is in the Main Dining Room (“MDR”).

The composer, Stephen Lyttleton, studied music theory and composition at Arizona State University. Stephen is currently involved in the private equity business in Houston, Texas as his “day” job. At nights and on the weekends, when not tending to his 2 boys, Jackson and Griffin, he is engaged in his music in order to supplement the meaning of life.
