Why this name?
It was the only one I was given.
Do you play live?
Not presently, but in time.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I see it as a breakthrough on many fronts. Firstly, it finally wrestles away control from the major corporate conglomerates. The internet returns control to the artists to some degree by providing a means of self promotion. This kind of accessibility had been tightly dominated by the record companies. Secondly, it allows people the freedom of choice to listen to what they are interested in, rather than having to be subjected constantly to continuously repeating play lists by radio stations that churn out the same old... well .... same old.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If it were in my best interest, I suppose I would.
I have been a huge admirer of Laurie Anderson, Peter, Gabriel, Brian Eno and of course Nick Rhodes. They have been heavy influences when it comes to electronic music in general. I have also been very much influenced by Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, and the ever omnipotent Helen Reddy.
Hmmmm, it always seems to be just around the corner.
Alesis Fusion 6HD, Novation X Station and Remote SL and my oh so lovely MacBook Pro.
Rhythm and melody are important - not so much into break beating or beat boxing or nock rocking hoping and hipping or anything along those lines. However, I hear a lot of interesting things in them that I find room for in some of my work.
