Dangler Fam Ink is based in Cincinnati, OH. The members are Bobby Dangler and Dirk Dangler and several honorary members who drop verses from time to time. We are not the average mcs out there looking for a contract, get rich and have our songs forgotten about at the end of the summer, WE are mcs who push the envelope of creativity and are not limited to what we make by trying to be radio friendly. Basically its our thoughts are OUR thoughts and a majority of you thinks the same as we do and will really feel the music be a part of you like "hey I have done or seen that before". We are currently working with several Cincinnati Heavyweights and the full album will be available in the Summer so enjoy what you hear and spread the word THE DANGLERS ARE COMING!!!
Why this name?
We chose the name Dangler Fam Ink because to dangle means to let it all hang out and say what is on your mind and not let your music be limited by what other people want to hear. We have been writing together for 15 years and I dont know about the rest of the world but to us that is family no doubt. Hence the name Dangler Fam Ink!
Do you play live?
We are currently doing promotional shows with Passthemic.com a special group of people who are trying to develop the independent movement of hip hop to keep it pure. We occsionally battle at Top Cats and we are currently looking to perform so hit us up.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet is a great way to get your music heard without it a majority of the major underground acts would not be heard. I think it will help smaller acts be noticed more by the general public and help truly talented artists get the chance they deserve.
Your influences?
Our influences would include Rakim, Nas, Public Enemy, Black Sheep, Nice and Smoth, Bob Marley, Reggae culture in general, A tribe called Quest, Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Blueprint, Illogic, Subterrainous, Molemen, Animal Crackers and so many more not enough time.
Favorite spot?
Top Cats on Wed. and I would have to say Okinawa Japan would have to be one of my favorite spots on earth
Equipment used:
The computer with a lot of goodies on it...Does Dr Dre tell you!
Anything else...?
All I can really say is please listen and believe that there is something different out there and there are more than the 20 songs the radio decides to play open your minds people and enjoy some good music.
